Welcome Delilah Leigh Loux
The newest addition to the Laverty blood line arrived at 2:46 PM on April 28th in Wichita, KS. Her name is Delilah Leigh Loux. She is the daughter of Bethany and Josh. She weighs in at a whopping 6 pounds and is 17 inches long. Don't let her size fool you. She is a Laverty woman deep down and promises to be force to be reckoned with. Mom is doing great. Grammy Eileen is totally exhausted however! Steve and I kept Delilah's three older siblings overnight. What an experience! I can't wait for everyone to get better acquainted with this part of the family at the reunion. The children are both challenging and delightful. For instance, Madelyn, the 5 year old explained to me that she and her little sister like to count American flags when they ride in the car. She went on to say that "American flags have three colors: red, white and blue. Only three colors. How boring is that? They need more colors!" In all the excitement of yesterday, I neglected to take any pictures! I'll try to get one soon and share it with all of you. Congrats Bethany and Josh!

Military Service
Lara and Al left for Iraq on Eileen's birthday. They called last night to tell us they are safely in Kuwait. Please remember them in your prayers. Lara was talking about how different Kuwait is from the last time she was deployed - lots of restaurants etc. I don't know when they will be moved into position in Iraq. She and Al, her husband, are both medics. I don't know the correct lingo anymore, maybe Hannah can help, but Al will be the front guy going out into the hot zones. Lara will be safer but I know she will worry herself sick about Al. I'll just be happy when they are both safely home again. I've already put their names on the prayer roll at the DC Temple. I did it before they even got on the plane to leave!

Happy Birthday Eileen
Well Baby Sister I won't tell everyone that you are really 29, let them think what they want. How ever you are the baby sister and as a result I must stand up for you. I will not let anyone make any old age jokes, tell story's of your youth, how the name "Bean" came around, broken collar bone stories, or searching for eye balls in the back yard. Nor will I tell them about the respect you had for me in high school, or how the boys in school stayed away from you for fear of the Laverty wrath. No I won't tell anyone....I'll let you do that in Branson
Happy Birthday!
Love your slightly older brother,
Jim

Branson
Well we did it. We bought our tickets to Branson and arranged to rent a mini van. So that makes it official.
I will be bringing two shot guns for anyone that would like to shoot sporting Clays with Steve and I. I think "Dead Eye Bean Stomp" will probably be shooting with us. So you girls need to get your shoot on. I have not shot in over a year so don't look for anything spectacular, but don't think for a moment I will be a lay down, I will do my very best.
Jamie, Bryan and I are going to South Dakota 1st week in June. Out Mission....to shoot as many of those little cute Prairie Dogs. OOOH I can wait. we will have over 2000 rounds if that gives you any idea of how much shooting will be going on. Pam will enjoy a week of peace and quiet, while we boy play with our toys.
Well that's it for now.
Gotta run,
Jim
