To Mom

I sit staring out the window blindly,
drowning in thought,
wondering how you could have left my life so soon...
The once full, colorful world is now bleak and drained.
Memories of you are everywhere but
until we are together
I will sit in darkness waiting for
the candle in my heart to be lit again.
I love you Mom

That's really great Mike. I feel the same way ...so lost without Mom, but I could never have written my feelings down so beautifully. I wonder if she knows what a huge void she's left in our lives?

Mike. Your sentiments are heartily felt and completely appropriate. Time is not the healer of all wounds and pain, however your understanding of your feelings and a belief and dependence on God will get you through this. It may not be easy and everyone feeling of loss is different and unique to that person. But you got us Laverty, Hips, Ketchie, Phelps and maybe a few other family members that you can count on. Call on any of us if you need to. One thing about this group is we will support each other in times like these and so many other needs as well.
PS you are making me proud to see the man you are becoming!!!!

Who knew there was a poet in you? What a beautiful tribute to your mom. I think of her often and miss her too. Sadness is natural and a good thing in some ways, but do not forget to celebrate your mom and the memories you have of her. Uncle Jim is right...we are all family and care about all of you kids. Take care of yourself and your family. That is the greatest tribute that Lyn could ask for.
