I was just sitting here wondering how Uncle Jim's carpal tunnel surgery went. How did it go? I was thinking about it..cos I was thinking I should blog and tell everyone my liver biopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. (it's funny...when you get old and need to update family on what weird procedures you're having...ay Uncle Jim? Aunt Debbie? Uncle Rick? Aunt Eileen?? LOL!!!)
I have to be there at 9:30am for the procedure which will start at 11:15 am and then they keep me for 4-6 hours after. I had to have some blood tests today...one was for the blood service to 'type' me. I turned to nathan and said---holy crap..they think I could hemorrhage (I know it's just a precaution---but scary!). I had a blessing yesterday--all will be fine!
Just keep me in your thoughts/prayers if you wouldn't mind!
Thanks...love to all,
Sandy
ps..Uncle Jim...let us know how it went!! UPDATE!!

Sandy, how did things go???? I haven't been on the computer since I went to Kansas for P & N 's wedding!!! I recently read that some people have a reaction to the chemicals in artificial sweetners in sodas that can affect the liver. Maybe that's all that's wrong I certainly hope so, but by now you know. Please let me know how you are ASAP. I love you, Aunt Debbie
just getting ready to go...wont know what they find out until i meet the gastro after this is all over. Don't know when that appt will be (with socialized medicine..you just wait for the letter to arrive to tell you when to be where..ugh!!)
i feel ok tho ;-)
Sandy,
Like Aunt Debbie please let me know how you make out. I had my surgery and it went well. I should have the stitches out tomorrow; a week and a day, that's not bad.
The surgery took 5 minutes, no joke. I was awake, they numb the hand and away he went. The only pain was actually from the injection of the lidocaine. After the numbing wore off I was able to use my hand only have to keep the bandages clean and dry.
Hi everyone...well I had it dont on Tuesday. I'm a little cross that they didn't tell me it would hurt. They said there would be some 'local anaesthesia' which I stupidly assumed meant i wouldn't feel anything. Wrong. I heard the surgical nurse 'hand over' me to the nurses who watch over you after..and she said "she did really well, didn't scream or anything". Do many people scream?? I did say "OW!!!" and try to pull away though...and cry a bit cos i felt sorry for myself..sigh. I just think a warning that it would hurt would've been nice. Anyway afterwards I had to lay flat for four hours (thought I would go crazy!!) The results take several days and then I have to wait for the appt with the gastro to be sent to me..but i'll let you guys know when I do what's up.
Love you!
Sandy
