Fibromyalgia

Well, I've been so ill I can barely make it off of the couch most days. I've known I have fibro for ten years now. Past research efforts have resulted in the same old thing: Take an antidepressant, exercise if you can and rest. To me that meant, sit on the couch and die slowly. Well, after a lot of prayer, I got busy researching again. This time I found the work of Dr. Amand, out of CA. He is a real doctor and a real researcher - not an in it for the money guy. He is 78 yrs old and has fibro himself. Anyway, if you want to know what fibro REALLY is go to his website: fibromyalgiatreatment.com
I downloaded his book to my nook and I was shocked. Every other page and I was saying to Barry, "I didn't know that was part of my fibro!" You know all those surgeries I had? I understand what happened to my body now. Rick, I think you have fibro too. I hope not, but I think you do. Just read the first couple of pages of the book and you'll know, trust me. I fibro fogging right now (that's when you sudddenly can't think straight, or have what I always called a "brain blip" before - you know you suddenly don't know where you are for a minute when you are driving your car or you look at a chair and the only word that comes out of your mouth is table, all sorts of things like that.
In a very short list here are a few of the symptoms:
Growing pains as a child (there really are no such thing!)
Feeling like you are out of the loop at school, even though you really are intelligent
Stiffness in the muscles and/or joints
Muscle weakness
Extreme fatigue
Restless leg syndrome
Irritable bowel - THE FAMILY CURSE!!!!
Skin or muscles sensitive to the touch - sometimes this is severe - a candy wrapper hit my leg the other day and I thought a hammer hat hit it - no kidding - this was a first and hopefully a last for me
Dry eyes or gunky eyes
Some forms of sexual dysfunction
hypoglycemia (about 50% of fibr0myalgiacs)

Okay, you get the idea. I real good sign is having a million medical tests done and they all come back normal (Sandy, take note here)

PLEASE take this seriously. Mom's life could have been so much better and she could have been saved.

Fibromyalgia does not affect the organs. Mom lived for ten days with no food or water. You can't imagine how this has affected me.

I want all of you to think about yourselves and your kids. There is no need to suffer with this disease. GOOD NEWS!!!!!! Finally! I've started following Dr. Amands protocol and I know that it is already working. You have to read his book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia Fatigue 2006. It is necessary to take guaifesin and block all salicylates from your diet and hygiene products. Do read the book so that you can understand what I'm talking about and exactly how to do it. His website has a map with a listing of Drs in every state that follow his protocol. I don't remember if I listed the website: www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com

This guy is for real - he doesn't make money from his book. guaif is the ingredient in Mucinex.
My Dr put me on guaif years ago but he didn't know about blocking the salicylates. The sal keeps the guaif from working - like when grapefruit blocks certain blood pressure meds.

Fibromyalgia cycles until finally it takes over unless you stop it. Your body doesn't get rid of posphates properly and that's what causes the problems.

I guess what really pushed me to doing some SERIOUS research is that I am developing glaucoma - and I don't want to go blind. I didn't know that that was also part of fibro ie eye problems. Now that I have started the guaif protocol, I feel like I'm going to be fine.

Sorry I've been so long winded. I hope this makes sense to you.
I love you all very much and I don't want you or my nieces and nephews to suffer through this.
Please, please read this book before you see your Dr. I also read Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum's book and he has 100 SERIOUSLY 100 tests you should take. It's a waste of time and money. They will all come back normal.

Cymbalta does ease the pain for a little while but it doesn't treat the underlying problem. I had to get off the Cymbalta because I was more depressed than I had ever been in my life and I wasn't sure how much more I could take. Cymbalta is dangerous - DON'T take it!

I love you all! Deb
