Last night Pam and Jamie took me to a Willey Nelson Concert. Now I like old Willey, not everyone does, but even if you don't care for Willey he was fabulous. Most older artists start to loose their abilities to perform as they get older, but they just don't know enough to give up. Not Willey he sang and played as good as he ever did. He played non stop for an hour and forty five minutes. Old songs and new songs. His songs and some others. There was a bass player, his sister on piano, a harmonica player and two percussionists (with no complete drum set between them) and Willey on Guitar. He was the only Guitar other than the bass player and he made that old beet up guitar of his talk. He did all of his own leads and rhythms all night long. No canned back up or anything.
If you ever get the chance you owe it to your self to see/hear him. He is better on the stage than on TV. I am telling you he gets better with age. Thank you Pam and Jamie!
