What are you doing next summer?

Well, it's official...Philip and Nalini are engaged! The ring is almost as beautiful as Nalini is and looks just perfect on her finger. They actually haven't set a date yet, but it sounds like times next summer are being discussed. I cannot tell you how very, very pleased I am about this. These two people are so well suited to each other. Both have the most giving, loving hearts. Both are super intelligent and childlike at the same time. They are just a pleasure to be around. Nalini has "just fit" from the moment we met her. Of-course she makes it easy to fit in because, for whatever reason, she seems to genuinely love this crazy family. I know I love her very much and can't wait to call her my daughter.

Where were you?

Most people will never forget where they were when JFK was assassinated or when the World Trade Center was attacked. So be prepared when people ask you, "where were you when you heard Michael Jackson had become fertilizer"?

Finally made it

Well I finally figured out how to get on here and wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you so much to everyone for welcoming me the way you have, it is truly the greatest blessing to be invited so warmly into this family. My parents and I had a great time this weekend with Jim and Pam, it was more like catching up with lifelong friends than meeting new family. I also wanted to say thank you so much Debbie for posting those pictures, I really do have his smile! I cannot wait to meet all of you, and I apologize truly in advance for being so difficult in responding quickly- working six to seven days a week leaves me with little energy these days but I promise I will work on it:) If anyone wants to contact me for any reason at any time please do, I'd love to hear from everyone. My parents Chris and John are incredibly excited to meet you all as well, so whenever any of you make a visit to the shore, definitely let us know. Thanks again everyone!

Dinner with Lacey, Chris and John

Pam and I just arrived home from having dinner with Lacey and her mom and dad, Chris and John. They are wonderful people, both professionals, very easy to converse with. I don't think at this point I could pick better parents for Lacey. I am convinced God put them together.
They are excited to be grandparents as Pam and I are aunt and uncle.
Lacy has been working all she can and being pregnant runs out of energy after working all day and evening too. She explained that is why she has been slow to email everyone, but she will.
I can not wait until you guys meet her.

Hi everyone! Welcome aboard Lacy! For Lacy's benefit, let me list who is in the pictures:

Clif and Eileen Laverty (Grandmom and Pop), Grammy Eileen (Great grandma) Lyn, Jim, Deb, Clif, Eileen, Rick, Tim. (In order of age) So your Dad is the baby in the pictures. I've also included some pictures of myself (your Aunt Deb) so you can see family resemblances. I figure everyone will be sending you pictures to compare. I'll email more if you want them. Pop had brown eyes, as do Jim and Clif. Grandmom, Lyn, Rick, Tim and I have blue eyes. Your Aunt Eileen won the prize: she has green eyes to die for! Lacey Leo

Hey as promised I wanted to bring everyone up to date. Pam, Jamie and I met Lacey in Salisbury for dinner. We must have talked for 2 1/2 or 3 hours. Not enough time.

Lacey is a lovely young lady. She is 23 has a degree from Salisbury in History and English and works full time for Verizon (the land line company) and JC Pennies part time. She lives with her mom and dad in Eden Maryland. They have apparently done a great job of raising her and for that I am thankful. She is expecting a daughter and her due date is August 1st. So she will not be at the family reunion needless to say. But she really would like to meet everyone.

Lacey's pictures do not tell the whole story. She has Eileen's green eyes, Timmy's smile and high cheek bones. Pam says she looks allot like Rick's Julie. Eileen & Deb say she has Dad's nose. She it musically gifted as was Tim and has an out going personality.

It was like sitting with a family member and I really could see Tim in her. It has been a wonderful yet emotional weekend for me. But I am so glad to know her. If you feel so lead take a moment and email her and introduce yourselves. If not that is O.K. too. She can not take calls during work hours on her cell phone but if you leave a message she will call you back, email might be the best option at this point.

She asked me to pass on her information so if anyone would like to contact her please do. She understand the sensitive nature of all of this and will respect everyone's choices, however knowing this bunch she will fit right in and you will grow to love her like any other niece.

Timmy Laverty's daughter Lacy

Hey Guys and Gals I am please to introduce you to Timmy's Daughter Lacey. Lacey found me through the help of friends and the Internet. Wow what can I say. Pam and I are going to meet her tomorrow and I will pass on all I can after we meet.

There is so much coincidence in this happening that you know it was not coincidence but God's hand at work. Our family keeps growing.

Hey guys. I will be bringing my geneology with me to the reunion. Just to keep everyone informed before hand of what I have found, here is a very quick rundown:
Dad's side: German, Irish, Scot, French, American Indian? The Laverty name is from Ireland, although it is northern Ireland. The Bairds are from Scotland and the Griffins appear at this point to be from Ireland. The Harris line may be from Scotland but I haven't been able to verify this.
Mom's side: Irish, Swedish, Canadian, Austrian, Russian, English

Where is the Polish you ask? The Austrian and Russian sides spoke Polish because they were originally part of the Polish empire and because of their proximity to other Polish speaking people. Our Great-grandmother wrote that she was Austrian on her marriage license. The Kujawa's (Kuyava) came from Russia. However, our grandfather Joseph George Kujawa (This is the correct order of his name) spoke Yiddish!
Known last names in our line: Laverty, Martin, Baird, Gerow, Griffin, Harris, Smith,Buehler, Helmuth, Reeb, Lude, Uhl, Kuyava, Kujawa, Gawlak, Wojczyk, Hand, Butler, Doyle, Coyle, Akerberg, Instrom There are a lot of variations in some of the spellings. I wrote down what was used on something in their own hand or the hand of one of their children.

I believe I know what caused the crash of Air France flight 447.
It is my suspicion that the electronic indicators on the plan told the french pilots "it's time to fight to save this aircraft". Being french, the pilots threw up their hands and exclaimed "we're french! We don't fight!
And so they just rode it in.

100's of innocent lives saved

Last week I read on CNN about one of Gods soldiers,Scott Roeder who may have sacrificed his freedom to save the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent babies by eliminating a murderous doctor (and I use the term doctor in the sense that Joseph Mengele was a doctor) by the name of George Tiller from the face of the planet. Unfortunately for Tiller he chose to murder babies instead of making Mothers, who are to lazy to take care of there children let alone bother to close their legs long enough to use a little birth control, take responsibility for her actions.
This happened in Wichita KS.
Eileen, since you live in Wichita I was wondering if you know of a defense fund that has been set up for Gods warrior so that people can send contributions to aid Scott Roeders defense.
