I believe I know what caused the crash of Air France flight 447.
It is my suspicion that the electronic indicators on the plan told the french pilots "it's time to fight to save this aircraft". Being french, the pilots threw up their hands and exclaimed "we're french! We don't fight!
And so they just rode it in.

Rick, I love you with all of my heart but I am about to ruin your day - we have French in us on dad's side - the Gerow family. We are descended from French Huegenots who fled from France seeking religious freedom! Alfred Gerow married a woman named Emma who may be our American Indian.
