He's Home!

Rick is back home. Nothing new to report - he still has to wait awhile to get the gall bladder out. Hopefully, he won't have another flare-up.

Christmas is Coming

Hey All! As you probably know, I really do enjoy photography. I actually have had an interest since about age 10. Well I finally decided to do something a little extra with some of my photos. I make photo greeting cards using photography from all over the place - US, Canada and Brazil for now. Actually I have been making my cards since 2006.

For the past month I have been working on setting up a new website with these cards. I would love some feedback on what you think, and of course if you would like to place an order I wouldn't mind at all. But take a look at my site and the cards and if you have any suggestions or comments, send them my way.

My cards are hosted on a site specifically for hand crafted items, called Etsy. I will be uploading more cards as time goes on. I have many more cards available than I have on the site. You can click the title above or go to www.photocardsbyjimmy.com

Have a wonderful week and be blessed!
Jimmy

Tony needs prayer!

I just received an email telling me that Tony had a bicycle accident. He was on his way to a 7-11 and failed to negotiate a down hill turn, when his bike flipped. He hit his face on the ground and has several stitches, may need plastic surgery. He also broke out 3 of 4 teeth he had in an upper bridge in the front of his mouth. He will go to the dentist once the stitches have been removed and the swelling goes down. Thank God he did not have any more head injury.

Aunt Roberta has asked for our prayers that the complete Will of our Lord would be manifest in and for his life. It would be nice if Tony could be moved in with a couple suited to taking care of people with head injuries or a ranch setting, as he is very good with horses and finds joy in them.

I will ad this request that we pray for Uncle Jim and Aunt Roberta as they try and help Tony...it has been a hard journey for them, but it goes with out saying that they do it out of love.

Love, Jim

Deja Vu

Rick is back in the hospital with what he thinks is another pancreatitis attack. He's on the same ward. They haven't limited his diet as much yet as the blood work was in the normal range. Don't have any word yet on next steps - maybe they'll know tomorrow.

Good News from the Doc!

It looks like the problem with my lead corrected itself.  Dr. Val in his best American/Chilean said that my heart was angry, but now the leads have found a home.  Evidently, the heart doesn't like foreign objects being inserted into them.  They rebel and get inflamed and try to cause the lead to back out.  It just took a while for the heart to settle down and accept that this is pretty much a permanent arrangement. That little adventure used up a little over a year of my battery life, but all in all, that's not a huge deal.  Right now they're projecting 7 years or so before I'd need a new pacemaker.  Somehow that sounds a long way away.  A lot longer than, "Hey, next month we're going to extract your lead and start over again."  I can live with that...pun intended.

Homecoming Dance

In an unexpected move, both children went to the homecoming dance. Most kids went in groups not with dates, so almost everyone goes. And dresses up. Julie is in several pictures nad Joe is in a couple. I think it's fun to see the dresses. Here's the link - just paste into your browser..

obama and hid dad

Obama and his dad were taking a leak off the 14Th street bridge. His Dad says "boy dis water's cold". Obama says "yea it's deep too".
Then they smoked some crack with Marion Barry and Got Their Freak on. Jessie Jackson didn't want any because he couldn't be given a guarantee that the crack hadn't been purchased in"Hymie Town".

Hey There

So whats up? Notice the counter on the blog over 900 views since I put it on but no where near that many posts.

Let me tell you a story. I have a client she is a CPA, she sends me many new clients which adds to the commission statement thus making my banker happy. It was her birthday so I sent her Flowers. Her business is attached to her home so she put them on the dinning room table. Her husband saw her and beat her up for getting these flowers from someone other than him. So she went to the emergency room and had stitches and turned them in on her health insurance, note I am her insurance agent, so the insurance company paid the claim so her rates went up. With that her husband again beat her up for turning in the claim and causing the premium increase. So he the flew out the front door tearing the screen door. Later that evening a customer came over and cut his hand on the screen, so he turned that claim into my clients home owners policy which paid the claim under "medical payments to others". So her premium on her home owners insurance went up, so her husband beat her up again. So she called Obama's office to tell him about it and his recommendation was to take enough pain medicine until her ultimate and untimely death. So I then paid the life insurance claim one claim per policy its simple and now the husband had money but no one to beat up. So he called Fox News and it was reported on Glen Becks program. Now the Obama administration has band all flowers and taxed the florist out of business. Then blamed Glen Beck for the entire situation.
The moral of the story is Obama's going to get you either by taxes or death.
The names were changed in the previous account to protect the innocent.
Now you have the rest of the story, have a good day.

I'm home

After seven days and approx 104 needle sticks in my arms and legs, I'm finally home. There's a lot to tell and I'll fill more in tomorrow when I'm not so tired, but I'm home. It took them 11 hours just to get me discharged. Never, ever do you want to get pancreatitis. It's the worst pain I have ever experienced and I've experienced a lot of pain. I fill you in later.
P.S. Beds from the Florence Nightengale error are really uncomfortable.

The Latest Update

Rick is trying desperately to get out of the hospital and they are trying just as desperately to keep him in. Just as he was ready to have them sign the release papers, they found out his potassium was low. After several hours of promises and a threatened walk-out, they hooked him up to a potassium drip and he whiled away another night in Littondale Ward. This morning it's still low, but I don't know if it's low but better, or no change. If it's low but better, then just give him potassium pills and send him home!

He is angry and frustrated at this point - not a good combination. Hopefully, by the time you read this, Rick will be home and preparing to fire off an angry letter to the NHS.

Good news/Bad News

The results of the scan don't show anything going on with the gall bladder. The good news is that they still think it could be related, so they are going to recommend he get the gall bladder out as an outpatient when this is over.

So with no real culprit, they keep him in until it's back to normal - mid to end of week, and send him home.

I still think it probably was the gall bladder though, so at least he'll be able to get it removed as a result of this.

Update on Rick

Sorry guys, but it's kind of difficult to juggle a husband in the hospital, all the usual weekend errands, two cross country events, a birthday party and the blog.

But enough whining, you guys just want to know what's going on.

Rick was in a lot of pain, but they've finally gotten his meds right and he was much better today. They are doing a CT scan tonight. The most likely cause is gallstones, which I pretty much hope it is, as they could then get the gall bladder out and problem solved.

If it's not the gall bladder, it's a mystery and they probably just get this attack under control and wait to see if it happens again - not a pretty prospect.

In any event, he'll be in the hospital until mid-week at least. He doesn't want any phone calls right now - he can't concentrate and doesn't feel like working to carry on a conversation. I'll let you know if he changes his mind.

Jim - he did say that if you wait a couple of weeks he can tell you a lot about the NHS now!

Anything New on Rick?

Hey Donna,  Any update on Rick?  Have the Doc's decided if this is caused by his gall bladder?  Just want to know what's going on.  Eileen

Rest in Peace Brenda

If you guys could please pray for my step family. My step sister Brenda Cottit passed away yesterday of brain cancer. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer less than a year ago and the cancer spread to her brain. She was undergoing chemo and lost the battle.
Love to you all.

Rick's latest diagnosis

Rick checked himself into the emergency room this morning after being sick for the last two days. I suspect he was thinking swine flu, but it came back pancreatitis - an inflammation of the pancreas. Very painful. He is now on a ward at Harrogate Hospital. We are going over to see him in about an hour. He'll be in the hospital for a few days, as the pancreas needs to rest which means no food for the next 3 or 4 days. I'll post a phone number in case anyone wants it, but it will be an international number. It doesn't sound serious, he just needs to be in the hospital so he can be hooked up to the IV. Researching, it looks like that pesky gall bladder could be the cause of the mischief, but as of right now, no clue.
