2nd one hand typist

Hey'all!
My surgery went very well today. I had a nerve block so I don't have much pain but the Doc warned me that as soon as I feel it wearing off I need to take my pain med so I can stay on top of it. He also taught me something I'd never heard before - he said that the pain would be less intense (that part I knew), overall I would need less meds and that the pain would diminish more quickly ie fewer days of pain. I remember having to get on Mom to take her meds as soon as the pain started - I wish I had had this info to share with her. What was hard for me today was not being able to call Mom to give her my "report". Actually, I know Mom would have beat me to the phone lol !! I know she is watching us in heaven but I sure wish I could talk to her.

On a lighter note, I wish Eileen could send us the sound of the ocean over the blog!!!!It's tough for us midwesterners !!!

Sandy, that quick appt is so that you'll stop worrying!! You'll be fine kiddo.

Rick - anything you can do I can do better..I can do anything better than you!!
except telling jokes, traveling in Europe........!!

Jim, how did your sleep study go? After we all get done with our overhauls, we need to get together and have some fun! I miss everyone SO much!!!!
Love,
Deb

Are you already home?? You sound vERY upbeat for just having had surgery...i think that nerve block thing is great!

I love you and miss you so much! I miss letting Mom and Mommom know what's up with me too...Im so glad I have you (thanks for letting me ring and cry in your ear)..its mostly about having someone who cares to listen...someone who can tell me it'll all be ok!

Debbie,
Glad you made out well. As you may recall I had the surgery on my shoulder and I rejected the stitches and it had to be done again a month late. Extreme pain and Pam will tell you I can handle the pain but this was awful.
The comment about mom and telling her about taking the pain meds before the other meds wear off is a conversation Pam and I had several times with Mom so don't beat yourself up over that. None of us wanted mom to suffer, no one wants any of us to suffer, well with the exception of maybe Rick Hee Hee, just kidding.
Glad you are doing well.
Love,
Jim
